WSI

WSI is one of the largest privately held third-party logistics providers in the United States. Founded in 1966, they started in chemical warehousing and transportation, then grew to 13M sq. ft. of U.S. warehouse space, added ecommerce fulfillment, and expanded into various CPG industries.

Their warehousing, fulfillment, and transportation services are designed to elevate the customer experience at every stage of the supply chain. From production through distribution, WSI delivers tailored solutions that streamline operations, enhance accuracy, and drive efficiency.

WSI engaged us to take over a website design and development project that had been initiated by another agency. While eager to launch quickly, they felt the site required a more modern aesthetic and a significantly reduced amount of text.

To stay within time and budget constraints, we retained the existing theme but implemented numerous updates to image formats, color palette, typography, and copy. Given the site’s strong existing SEO foundation, we also prioritized preserving key placements to maintain its search performance.

This website project focused more on development and elements than full-scale design, since the site was partially built but not yet live. The process began in close collaboration with the client to identify desired changes and improvements to the existing framework. New pages were then created to align with the company’s branding and purpose, incorporating consistent design elements such as navigation, color schemes, and imagery.

Interactive filters based on warehouse capabilities were added to the locations page to enhance usability for end users. Additional content was installed and customized to integrate seamlessly with the site’s existing design. Prior to launch, a comprehensive audit was completed to identify and address technical issues, ensuring the site was polished and ready to go live.

65% of WSI’s traffic comes from mobile devices, so responsive design was important. Each page was tested on varying screen-sizes for usability.
