Organic SEO FAQ
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a process that attracts visitors through high placement on search engines by providing quality content and the right keywords. Done correctly, SEO results in increased visibility in the “organic” listings area of search engine result pages.
The process also encourages natural links to the website from other sources due to the increased value of its content. SEO is important for any business if they wish to be competitive and attract more leads online.
Our SEO process involves:
- Researching keywords based on a company’s target audience and products or services. This shows the keywords and number of searches actually taking place.
- Using that research, a variety of things happen:
- New content is added, or existing content is updated to include the new keywords, but also to create helpful content for the target audience.
- Updates are made to tags, attributes, and sometimes structure.
- Backlink outreach and internal linking is implemented.
- Website health audits and fixes are conducted.
- The site is reviewed for compliance with Google’s E-E-A-T guidelines.
- A Schema Markup plan is created.
- An automated schema mark tool is implemented.
- Selected pages are marked up with custom schema.
- Depending on the client’s package, new content is announced through the client’s social media, email, or other mediums.
- All SEO clients receive monthly reports containing the site’s placement on targeted keywords, number of conversions, visits, site health measures, and more.
The SEO process is not a “one and done” strategy. Businesses need to continually add helpful content to their website that attracts their market to stay at the top of search engine result lists. As a result, this process is iterative and often includes a blogging campaign–especially after the first year.
How soon your website will obtain visible SEO results depends on many factors, many of which are not in our control. They include age of your website, content quality, existing backlinks and their quality, historical update frequency, new backlinks, and type of content added to attract SEO, to name just a few.
For sites that have never had SEO applied before and do not have great content, the process can take from 6 months to a year before higher rankings on targeted keywords can be expected. Adding good SEO-optimized content can still generate increased visitors through promotion of the new content from other sources, such as social media, paid search, or an email campaign. Eventually the placement will follow, and sometimes it surprises us–especially when well-written blog posts are added on a consistent basis.
On the other hand, a site that has great content and branding but has never applied SEO may move up in the rankings much more quickly. Sometimes as soon as a few weeks.
SEO strategies have worldwide visibility on all search engines. However, in addition to algorithm factors, most search engines display results based on language, the city and state of the person doing the search, or when location information is included as part of the search term.
No one can guarantee SEO results. Search engine algorithms determine placement, and they are constantly changing. However, if we feel SEO is not a good match for your businesses for various reasons, we will recommend a different strategy to attract more visitors and leads.
